Frozen Pumpkin
Apple Bites

A little taste of fall without the oven.

No bake3 ingredientsFreeze about 3–4 hours

Some days, a homemade treat should be as simple as blending a few ingredients and finding a little room in the freezer.

These pumpkin apple bites bring together two familiar fall flavors in an easy, no-bake recipe. They’re a fun option when you want to make something for your dog without turning the kitchen into an afternoon project.

For a Dog Days kind of afternoon, that leaves more time for being with Bon Bon and Tommy.

Ingredients

Use pumpkin puree rather than pumpkin pie filling, and check broth ingredients carefully. Remove all apple cores and seeds.

Let’s Make Them

  1. Place the prepared apples, pumpkin, and water or broth in a blender.
  2. Blend until smooth.
  3. Pour into small silicone molds, leaving a little space for expansion.
  4. Freeze for approximately 3–4 hours, or until fully frozen.
  5. Transfer the bites to a sealed freezer container.

Freezing time will vary with the size of your molds. This recipe has not been kitchen-tested by Dog Days.

Serving and Storage

Keep the bites frozen until needed. Offer a small portion appropriate for your dog and supervise while they enjoy it. Let it soften before serving if your dog tends to crunch hard frozen treats.

Treats should account for no more than about 10% of daily calories. If your dog has dietary restrictions or a prescribed diet, ask your veterinarian whether these ingredients are suitable.

Homemade doesn’t have to mean complicated. Sometimes a blender, a pumpkin can, and a little patience are all you need.

A small taste of fall for the dog who makes every season sweeter.
