Bon Bon: A Little Dog With a Big Personality and a Love of Sunshine

Bon Bon has a pretty simple idea of a good day: find some sunshine, get comfortable, and stay close to someone she loves.
My little Boston Terrier loves sunbathing and sleeping right next to me. She also has enough personality to make sure her small size is the last thing you notice about her.
She may be little, but her presence fills the house.
A Sunny Spot Is Her Happy Place
There’s something so sweet about watching Bon Bon enjoy the sunshine. She settles into a warm spot as though she has nowhere else to be—and absolutely no reason to hurry.
I love that about dogs. They can enjoy a quiet moment without wondering whether they should be doing something more productive. Bon Bon doesn’t need an elaborate plan to have a lovely afternoon. A comfortable place in the sun is plenty.
Watching her relax makes me want to slow down a little, too.
Her Favorite Place Is Right Next to You
As much as Bon Bon loves a sunny spot, she also loves being close.
Sleeping beside you seems to be her idea of the perfect arrangement. There’s something comforting about having that little body settled next to mine, completely happy to share the quiet.
Those moments are some of my favorites. Nothing particularly exciting has to happen. We can simply be together, and that feels like enough.
Of course, having a small dog beside you doesn’t always mean you’ll have quite as much room as you expected. Bon Bon brings a surprisingly large presence to any sleeping arrangement.
Small Dog, Very Big Personality
Bon Bon has an expressive little face that makes her difficult to overlook. Between her eyes, her ears, and the way she carries herself, she has plenty of ways to get her point across.
She can look sweet, curious, or thoroughly unimpressed—and somehow remain adorable through all of it.
That’s part of what makes life with her so much fun. She’s affectionate and cozy, but she’s also very much her own little character. Her personality is as much a part of her charm as those Boston Terrier looks.
I wouldn’t change that about her.
The Little Things I Want to Remember
When I think about what I love most about Bon Bon, it’s these ordinary moments.
Her enjoying the sunshine. Her sleeping close beside me. Her little face looking up with an expression that deserves a photograph.
They’re the kinds of things that can become so familiar you almost forget how special they are. This blog gives me somewhere to keep them.
Bon Bon makes everyday life warmer, funnier, and a lot more interesting. For such a small dog, she leaves very little space in my heart unoccupied.
Give her a little sunshine and a place beside you, and she’s found her kind of dog day.
